What's New in The Star and The Crescent: Arab-Israeli Wars, 1956-2009

The Star and The Crescent is yet another step in the evolution of the Armored Task Force series.  It brings many new capabilities to allow scenario designers to create tons of new content for The Star and The Crescent and other, future ATF Engine releases.

The Star and The Crescent was designed with backwards compatibility in mind.  That means that all of the scenarios you, and the ATF community as a whole made for Armored Task Force, Raging Tiger and The Falklands War: 1982 will still run as intended in The Star and The Crescent.  We have also made a commitment to maintain backwards compatibility in all future releases.  So the scenarios and components you build using the The Star and The Crescent Scenario Builder will run in all future ATF Engine releases.

The reverse, however, is not true.  Scenarios including any of the new features listed here will not run in Armored Task Force, Raging Tiger, or The Falklands War: 1982.  Keep this in mind when designing maps, databases, and scenarios.

Here is a list of the new features available to The Star and The Crescent scenario designers.

This is only a brief summary of the changes in The Star and The Crescent.  There are tons of other changes in the game.  Keep an eye out for Thunder & Lightning: The Battles of Operation Desert Storm and War in Afghanistan, our next commercial releases, which will add even more features to the ATF Engine.
